Indeed, there is no central place where we can manage our system. Setting up a set of a hundred sensors would require a lot of (rigorous) manual intervention and monitoring them would be challenging as well. This project was okay to handle just a few connected sensors. This project works fine, it draws very little power and we enjoyed developing it - but: We massively used Firebase products (Realtime Database, Cloud Functions, SDK and Hosting) to meet our goals. The data set was ultimately lively plotted to a web app (see live plot here: ). In a previous 3-post series, we used an ESP8266 Wifi chip to regularly measure luminosity and feed a database with the obtained data. ![]() This post is completed by a second one: see here. GitHub for last section (Logging, storing and visualizing weather data with Firebase) is here: To go through his tutorial, the concepts and then the setup of a simple IoT system measuring weather data are described. The devices are ESP32 Wifi chips running Mongoose OS. This post is a step-by-step tutorial for newbies to Google Cloud Platform-Cloud IoT Core. The most up to date version is on Medium:
